Although I spend a lot of time
Within this humble room
Quietly and all alone
And that might seem like gloom
But in my mind I’m far away
Which brings me happiness
For home is where the heart is
I move about on this planet
Quite like a machine
My actions quite predictable
And in a rut it seems
But my foundation’s on solid rock
Not on earth’s sinking sand
For home is where the heart is
In a short time there’ll be a mound
Of dirt cov’ring my bones
The dirt will settle, grass will grow
Around the old white stone
In time removed when that scene fades
A wedding feast I’ll be attending
For home is where the heart is
